A special memory

This is what we woke up to on Thanksgiving morning! It was sooo cold!
Roads were icy so it was good we had decided to not travel this Thanksgiving.

But thankfully, inside it was warm and cheerful and the house was filled with the wonderful smell of turkey cooking.

Amy and Jason brought Boomer and Cinder.
(Sadly, the pic with Cinder didn't turn out. She is a very sweet elderly black lab. )

It was wonderful to have four out my five children home!

I should have taken a picture of all the food! Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes (we always use yams, but call them sweet potatoes), green bean casserole, cranberries, relish tray, dip, rolls, sparkling cider and pumpkin pie!

We found out we were out of propane right before I wanted to take my shower! I knew we were getting low, but was hoping it would last until next week after I got paid. With all of the cold weather we have been having, we went through it faster than I hoped. Thankfully, I have a woodstove and enough wood to keep us warm. Hot showers will have to wait until next week though unless I make a trip to the Y. It was a wonderful day in spite of running out of propane.  We ate too much, watched football and  played Guesstures in the afternoon.  The boys won, but we want a rematch!  We are finding out more and more how much we all like Jason and how well he fits into our little family.  A special memory I am thankful for.

  1. Thank you for your prayers,, I am not sure I could have stayed there for two weeks if people had not been praying. And what a lovely thanksgiving you had with your family.
I did have a nice thanksgiving even with all the tension. My daughter came but my son went to his inlaws. At Christmas I will have them both. I am looking forward to that. Have a blessed night and please keep praying.
